North Valley Regional SWAT Training Day
Wednesday, April 8, 2015
Hosted by Butte County Sheriff’s Department and FBI Sacramento
in association with the
California Association of Tactical Officers (CATO)
Welcome to the Fifth Annual North Valley Regional SWAT Training Day! You have the opportunity to join several other tactical teams for this regional training opportunity at the Butte County Sheriff’s Department Training Center, in Chico, California. This training day is hosted by FBI Sacramento and the Butte County Sheriff’s Department, in association with the California Association of Tactical Officers (CATO). The training is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2015. As always, there is NO cost associated with this training!
The training day has been organized into four training sessions, each lasting approximately 90 minutes, with two sessions in the morning and two in the afternoon. The below training “menu” has been prepared for Team Commanders and Team Leaders to select from.
In order to accommodate the training needs of teams that will be participating in the best manner possible, Team Commanders/Team Leaders are asked to rank the list of training sessions in their order of preference. Upon arrival at the training site, Team Commanders/Team Leaders will be provided with their schedule for the day. All team members will be required to check-in upon arrival.
Team Leaders are asked to have their teams report NLT 0800 the morning of the training to maximize training time.
Following are the training sessions that have been planned for that day. Team Commanders/Team Leaders – please rank each of these training sessions #1 – #14 in order of your preference and return to me. You can mark below and fax it back to me at Fax # (916) 977-2300 or scan and email back to me (preferred). Please note that I might not be able to give each team their first four preferences based on the responses that I get. I will try and do my best! You may notice that there are a number of new training stations being offered this year.
You will also notice that there is a 4 hour CNT/HNT Team Update break out session on the agenda. Please brief your CNT/HNT Team Leader of this training opportunity as well.
As in prior training dates, there will be a trainer/instructor assigned to each station. The trainer/instructor will be an experienced trainer from an area SWAT team who has volunteered to run that station. Inasmuch as this training day is meant primarily as an opportunity to conduct joint training between area teams and not a traditional training course, it is up to individual SWAT Team Leaders whether or not they want the trainer to provide instruction at that particular station during your rotation. If instruction is not needed or desired, then teams are welcome to work the station themselves and the trainer will simply stand back and offer critique if requested. If individual Team Leaders request that training be provided then they will be prepared to do so. At each station you may be training with another team.
The Butte County Sheriff’s Department has arranged for a small number of vendors to support the training. Sierra Nevada will be providing lunch for all attendees at no charge and participating vendors will be donating various prizes for a raffle. We will need a total headcount of all personnel you will be bringing, to include SWAT, Command, HNT/CNT, Support and Observers.
The address for Butte County Sheriff’s Department Training Center is 1222 Openshaw Road, Oroville, CA.
Thank you and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your teams! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at telephone number (916) 977-2247 (office), (916) 416-4391 (cell) or email at email@example.com.
