Step 1
An applicant decides to become certified in a particular role. The certification is, after all, voluntary. Consequently, without the desire to be certified, the entire process is meaningless. Eligibility is not limited to CATO members but will require vetting that a candidate is a sworn police officer. (including reserve police officers)
Step 2
The candidate receives a worksheet that lists the criteria for a particular role. Because each role has different criteria, they also have different requirements. These will be available for download from our website.
Step 3
The candidate completes the requirements identified in the worksheet. This may require a candidate to fulfill unmet obligations or simply to compile the necessary prerequisites, to include validation, for submission.
Step 4
The candidate submits the worksheet with the required validation to the particular role vetting committee. The burden for completing the worksheet and ensuring that all conditions are met is entirely upon the candidate. The specific vetting committee will then review the submission and determine if the candidate has met the requirements for the specific domain.
