Certification Courses and Prac App Tracts designated by an asterisk (*) are on a first-come/first-serve basis. To sign up for these courses, you must first register and pay for the conference, and then send an email to CATO’s Director of Training, Phil Myers, at requesting a spot. Make sure to specify which Course and/or Prac App Tract you want to attend. Seats in these courses are limited. Equipment lists and course details will be provided at that time.


Tactical Medicine 4 Hour Course
Training individual operators to be capable of independently beginning treatment of immediate life threatening injuries in a tactically safe manner, before the arrival of emergency medical personnel. Students will learn the history and background of tactical medicine and understand their responsibilities as LE first responders. Students will be able to identify time critical injuries, top causes of avoidable death and patterns of traumatic injuries. The course also encompasses the operator’s priorities when treating in tactical environments, teaching the student triage concepts utilizing XABCDE / MARCHE.

Tactical Rope Access Course (TRAC) (4 hours)
This course is designed to dramatically improve skill sets and revolves around these 3 rotations: 1. TCCC update, patient packaging, hasty harness, equipment demo, 2. Vertical equipment and techniques: descending, tactical entry into descent, belays, meat anchor, triple spine rap webbing escape, and 3. Vertical equipment and techniques: knots, anchors, lowering and raising
