COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to provide law enforcement first responders assigned to a supervisory/leadership role as well as tactical operators/supervisors with the tools and techniques to make informed and effective decisions during critical incidents. Instruction will include techniques for identifying important characteristics in a developing incident, recognizing factors that influence the event, establishing priorities, and taking action to prevent escalation, promote de-escalation, and begin intervention toward a successful resolution.

 

COURSE INSTRUCTORS: Tenured patrol/field supervisors with significant tactical experience will share their leadership experiences related to critical incident management to help officers and supervisors successfully resolve incidents in the field environment.

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: The course is designed for watch commanders, patrol supervisors, experienced officers, supervisors of specialized units, or anyone else who wants to increase their knowledge on tactics and techniques applicable to rapidly evolving critical events.

 

TRAVEL AND LODGING: Class will begin at 0800 hours on the first day and conclude at 1700 hours on the last day. CATO has secured a block of rooms at the Island Palms Hotel and Marina at the government rate of $125.00 per night plus tax.
